THE MAIN PURPOSE
of the Community Action Team (CAT) is to promote social well-being among the general public. As a 501c3 nonprofit corporation governed by a board of directors, contributions to CAT are tax deductible and are used to help produce quality events and projects within our community that benefit children, animals, and the environment.

WED. PACKET PICKUP & FOOD DRIVE

Pick up your t-shirt and bib 4-5:30 p.m. at the start line (Granada Launch Ramp) on the Wed. evening before the Trot or at least 30 minutes before your start time. Please bring mac n cheese, breakfast cereal, canned fruit, tuna, or peanut butter (food for the AIDS Food Store) when you come to the packet pickup/event.

Councilwoman Suzie PriceNOTES: If you are running the Wingding with your kids, please register and sign the liability waiver for the Wingding and wear your bib. Each registrant will receive a bib and shirt.

The registration service does charge a small service fee if you pay by credit card. Entry fees are ABSOLUTELY nonrefundable and nontransferable.

Rain or shine event.

No dogs on the course, no bikes, no inline skates, no skateboards, no scooters, no Native American costumes on the course. Wheelchairs welcome. Service animals welcome.

Strollers and those who are walking are asked to start at the back of the pack.

Hot to (Turkey) Trot in Long Beach!

Before Filling Up on Thanksgiving, You Can Run It Off at the Long Beach Turkey Trot Run/Walk and Kids 1/2-Mile Wingding on the scenic beach path. The start and finish are at the Granada Ave. boat launch ramp, 1 Granada Ave.

PACKET PICKUP (Wed. or Thurs.)
At the boat launch ramp/start line at 1 Granada Ave., 90803.  Wed., Nov. 27, 4-5:30 p.m. and Thanksgiving morning after 6:30 a.m. Pick up your bib/shirt at least 30 minutes before your start time. Shirts are not guaranteed to late registrants or late packet pickups.

BRING CANNED GOODS AND...
Please consider bringing mac n cheese, breakfast cereal, canned fruit, tuna, or peanut butter (food for the AIDS Food Store) when you come to the packet pickup on Wed. or Thurs.

Can I pick-up a bib and/or T-shirt for someone else?
Yes, bring a note from that person that includes their full name, shirt size, start time. Give the note to the volunteer handing out bibs.

Can I register during the packet pickup?
Yes, we’ll have entry forms at the packet pickup. 5K/10K will be $45/cash and $35/cash for Kids 1/2-Mile..

100% raised goes to this charity. We will raise thousands for the 501c3 nonprofit Community Action Team (C.A.T.) for their events/projects that include the monthly 30-Minute Beach Cleanup, Haute Dogs, the $1,000 National Kids Spelling Bee, the National Adult Spelling Bee, the Fourth of July Kids' Bike Parade, Operation Easter Basket, Operation Santa Paws, Long Beach Touch-A-Truck, the Belmont Shore Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest, Miss Long Beach and more. The group puts on more than 30 annual projects/events/contests focused mostly on animal, environmental and youth welfare.  MORE ABOUT C.A.T.

FREE PIES
The Long Beach Turkey Trot has a rich tradition of handing out pies to random finishers. Basically, every 15th person will get a whole holiday pie (usually pumpkin) after crossing the finish line. The pies will be presented by Teen/Miss/Ms./Mrs. Long Beach and Teen/Miss/Ms./Mrs. Southern California.

PARKING

Beachfront lots have more than 1,000 parking spaces and in-lot kiosks (about $2/hour) accept credit cards and cash starting at 8 a.m. every day of the year, including Thanksgiving. Parking meters on 2nd St. are usually free on Thanksgiving (read the meter). Street parking is free.

Can I wear a costume?
Yes, we love costumed runners and walkers (and please post your photos/videos on our Facebook page), but please do not dress in Native American costumes at the Turkey Trot. Long Beach Turkey Trot
No Native American costumes at the Long Beach Turkey Trot. It is our policy to treat people with honor, dignity and respect -- regardless of their beliefs, gender, age, race, creed, sexual orientation, special needs and ethnicity


Do the race shirts come in women's and men's sizes?
Yes, most women will be given women’s styled shirts.  About 60% of the adult shirts will be styled for women.  The youth sizes and adult 2XL and adult 3XL are unisex. NOTE: The shirts are white.

Event sponsorship levels at $1,000 and $2,500 for our nonprofit’s Turkey Trot fundraiser.
