45K COURSE 410K COURSE
The Start & Finish lines and free parking are at the Belmont Olympic Pool, on the beach at 1 Bennett Ave. in the Belmont Shore area of Long Beach. MAPThe flat “out-and-back” course, which heads toward the Queen Mary and downtown Long Beach, is along the scenic beach bike path. The turn-around for the 5K course is near the Junipero Ave. parking lot. The turn-around for the 10K course is near Shoreline Village.
DO 2 OR 3 RACES Yes, it's possible to run at 7, 7:30, 8:30 and 9:30. It's just regular price for the first start time, and $10 additional for each start time.
FREE HOLIDAY PIES
In the Greek games, a judge would stand at the finish line holding, in plain sight, the laurel leaves that would be awarded to the winner. As runners made their way down the final stretch, they were worn out, exhausted, tired, and feeling as though they couldn't go another step. But suddenly there was the prize in clear view, and a new burst of energy would kick in. Think holiday pies: pumpkin, apple, and such. We'll be giving at least 400 pies to random finishers!
1/2-MILE KIDS WINGDING There will be a 1/2-Mile Kids Wingding Fun Run at 8:10 a.m. The entry fee for the Kids Run $20 before Nov. 23 or $35 thereafter and includes an event t-shirt (not guaranteed for late registrants). Parents are welcome to run alongside their child. The top-three girls & boys, 12 and under, in the Kids' Run will receive an award certificate. SPONSORS Gazette Newspapers, Councilman Gary DeLong, Justin Rudd and his501c3 nonprofit Community Action Team (CAT).
CHICKEN CHUCKING CHAMPIONSHIP Spare the turkey! It's free to throw the chicken. Before and after the Turkey Trot, participants will take turns using their body (no machines) hurling a rubber chicken across the beach. Besides taking home a 2 1/2-ft. rubber chicken trophy, the Chicken Chucking Champion's fling will determine the amount of the check to be written by organizers to a local food bank -- $2 for every foot the farthest fowl flies. Canned good donations accepted for local food bank. This free-to-enter contest takes place near the finish line -- between the indoor and outdoor pool, on the beach.Be sure to enter -- and don't be a chicken!
RACE-DAY REGISTRATION - CASH ONLY
In front of the Belmont Pool, 1 Bennett Ave., just blocks east of the Belmont Pier. Day-of registration (cash only) begins at 6:30 a.m. $35 for all participants.
T-SHIRTS Official 100% cotton event T-shirts for all registrants. Sizes YS, YM, S, M, L, XL, XXL. Approx. 2,000 women's-styled t-shirts will be available on a first-come basis in S, M, L and XL. Shirts can not be guaranteed for late registrants.
NOTE RACE CLOCK ONLY - NO TIMING COMPANY
We've decided to not hire a professional timing company for this race so that we can give that extra $10,000+ to charity. And, from past experience with our races, more than 75% of our athletes do not stay for the awards ceremony or wait to get their winning certificate. They want to race home to their families and feasts! There will be no age categories or online posting of race times. This is a no-frills Thanksgiving charity fun run. We WILL have a large 2-sided digital race clock at the start/finish line so you can see your official time when you cross the finish line. PRIZES
We WILL award prizes/certificates to the top-three overall men and women in the 5K (9:30 a.m. start only) and 10K (8:30 a.m. start only). CHARITY
We hope to raise lots of money for the 501c3 nonprofit Community Action Team (CAT) for their events/projects that include the monthly 30-Minute Beach Cleanup, Haute Dogs, the $1,000 National Elementary School Spelling Bee, the Fourth of July Kids' Bike Parade, Operation Easter Basket, Operation Santa Paws and more.

For the 10K, U-turn at the marina's "gangway V," just before Shoreline Village. Volunteers and water stations will be near the turnarounds.
