Sunday, April 28, 2024; 8th annual Long Beach Touch-A-Truck interactive event
The 8th annual “Long Beach Touch-A-Truck” interactive event is 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the beachfront Granada Ave. parking lot, 5000 E. Ocean Blvd., Long Beach, 90803. The free event is co-sponsored by Councilwoman Kristina Duggan, Port of Long Beach, Justin Rudd’s nonprofit Community Action Team (CAT), EDCO, and American Integrated Services.
SPONSORSHIPS AVAILABLE: starting at $2,500, includes prime location at the event with your vehicle(s) and canopy; mentions in newsletters, emails, social media and website; mentions during the event; you can hang your banner on our sign-in tent. Contact Justin@JustinRudd.com
About 100 large trucks, tractors, military, public safety, and construction vehicles are expected to be on display to the general public to explore from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
BRING PEANUT
BUTTER AND TUNA: We are encouraging attendees to bring a jar of peanut butter and/or cans of tuna that we'll be donating to local food banks -- including Christian Outreach in Action (COA) and the food bank at CSULB. We are also collecting gently-used kids books to share at Riley's Red Wagon Book Swap.
Kids and adults who pre-register will receive wristbands when they check-in (names will be on the list at the check-in tents) and are invited to sit in the drivers' seats of the vehicles, including firetrucks, police vehicles, buses, semi-trucks, tractors, and military vehicles. All registrants can still attend and get up close to the vehicles.
TAKE THE BUS: Use Long Beach Transit to Second Street @ Nieto Ave. or Park Ave. and walk three blocks south to Touch-A-Truck. Use routes 121/131.
PARKING: We highly suggest walking or biking to the event. Or, take a cab/Uber. We suggest parking along Second Street in a public parking lot and then walking three blocks south to the event.
We do NOT recommend bringing dogs to the event. Way too many people.
