WE NEED YOU AND YOUR
FRIENDS TO HELP
Volunteers are the Solution
NO MATTER where
it began, human hands and a human face lie behind every piece of garbage
that ends up on our beaches. The responsibility for this worldwide problem
does not belong solely to shipping companies, fishing fleets, and governments.
Ultimately, some individual had to throw that trash overboard, into
the street, down the toilet, or into the storm drain.
PEOPLE ARE THE PROBLEM, but people are also the solution. Marine
debris is one pollution problem that individuals can solve by direct,
individual action. The 30-Minute Beach Cleanup is about individual solutions
to a global problem.
Volunteering at the 30-Minute Beach Cleanup is a great time to
enjoy our beaches and the people that care about them. Spend 30 minutes
making new friends, feeling the sunshine and helping to make our beach
cleaner and safer.
The volunteers, who will meet on the beach at the end of Granada
Ave. at Ocean Blvd., may either progress toward the Belmont Pier or
the Peninsula.
VOLUNTEERS COMB the beach for debris that fouls the sands
and endangers aquatic wildlife. Individuals, organizations, school clubs
and businesses are encouraged to help with this community effort.
